Slime Fun
What a lot of fun we've had in Room 15 making slime for our writing experience. We've had to show resilience, a Growth Mindset and persistence to make the slime, as it took many tries to get it right! We finally perfected our recipe and wrote about the fun we had with slime. We had to use lots of interesting language, such as adjectives and similes to make our writing appealing for the reader. This is the recipe we used:
1 cup white PVA glue
1/2 cup shaving foam and foam handwash (together)
2 tablespoons of cornflour
a couple of drops of colouring
a few squirts of handcream (this makes it stretchy)
Now comes the fun part...
Mix 1 cup of boiling water with 1 teaspoon of borax in a bowl
Slowly add a couple of tablespoons of the water/borax mixture to the glue mixture. Stir and knead together. Keep adding tablespoons of the borax mixture until the slime is the right consistency and not too sticky.
Have fun playing with your slime!

Author Peter Millett Visits
This week, we were lucky enough to have Author Peter Millett (aka Mr Toilet Turtle Heap) visit our team and share his wonderful books with us. He read to us, shared some spy tips and answered our questions about being a successful author.
Inquiry - Famous Buildings and Structures
As part of our Foundations inquiry, we have been exploring famous buildings and structures from around the world. Here are some photos of us sorting and finding facts about different buildings and structures. We had to think really hard and share our ideas in our group so that we could match the title, place, facts and photo together.
